Mouawad Awarded Fifth Guinness World Record for The ‘Flower of Eternity Jewellery Coffer’
Bangkok, Thailand – 9 February 2017
The renowned 127-year-old diamond house, Mouawad, was awarded their fifth Guinness World Record in 2016 for their Flower of Eternity Jewellery Coffer. Certified as the world’s most valuable jewellery box, the Coffer was unveiled for the very first time during the closing dinner of the Thai & Belgian Successful Business Families’ Gathering, which was held on the 8th of February, 2017, at Avani Riverside Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand.
The dinner was organized in commemoration of the 125th anniversary of the arrival of Belgian lawyer and politician Gustave Rolin-Jaequemyns to Siam in 1892, when he was named General Adviser of H.M. King Rama V – the highest possible noble title a foreigner could receive by Royal appointment.
Celebrating 140 of solid ties between Thailand and Belgium, the dinner ended a four-day trip to Asia taken by the Founding Families of AB-InBEV – the world’s largest beer brewing company – with the aim of exchanging ideas and creating new bonds and friendships between family members.
The closing dinner was attended by Philippe de Spoelberch, the most senior AB-InBEV family member, as well as other family members of all ages and levels, in addition to some of the most prominent families in the Thai business sector, namely the Chearavanont family (CP Group), the Bhirombhakdi family (Boon RawdBrewery), the Charnvirakul family (Sino-Thai), and the Heinecke family (Minor Group).
“This is the fifth time that Mouawad has received a certificate from the authority of the Guinness World Records and it’s another of those remarkable moments in history for our family,” said Co-Guardian of Mouawad, Fred Mouawad, commenting on this impressive milestone in the legacy of the brand. “Having the Coffer make its global debut at such a distinguished event is a great honour indeed, and we are proud to be part of this gathering” he added.
